Crockett Co. Christmas Store has most successful year yet
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Members of a Crockett County charity now know just how much a Christmas toy giveaway impacted the community.
The Crockett Christmas Store is a program designed to help low-income families place gifts under the tree.
The Christmas store has helped nearly 800 children with a variety of gifts ranging from bicycles to electronics such as tablet computers.
“It went fantastic, and by far our largest year,” organizer Suzannah Wiggins said . “We started out in 2011 with 50 families helped. We helped 365 children this year.”
According to event organizers, thousands of families are living in poverty in Crockett County, and they want to do everything in their power to help out.
If you’re a Crockett County resident and are interested in applying for assistance with the program for next year, applications must be submitted months in advance.
