Legs bashed from marble horses in mall statue
RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) – Ridgeland police say a 30-year-old man is accused of taking a sledgehammer to a marble fountain and whacking the front legs off of four statues of horses.
WAPT-TV reports that this is the second time Charles Branch has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing a horse statue. In September, he was arrested on a charge accusing him of damaging a statue in front of the P.F. Chang’s restaurant at the same mall.
Bryan Myers of the Ridgeland Police Department says Branch is charged with malicious mischief. Online booking information says his bond is set at $2,500. There was no indication whether he had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
