New year brings in new resolutions
West Jackson, Tenn. — Alex Curry is working on his plan for the new year. He graduates high school in a couple of months and wants to participate in athletic activities in college.
Curry and many other residents have decided to start off the year in the gym. “I’m here to start my new year’s resolution. I heard golds gym was a pretty good place, so I decided to come here,” said Curry.
Curry isn’t the only one with fitness on the top of the “to-do” list for 2016. Gyms were filled with many people hoping to begin a new year’s resolution that would carry on throughout the year.
However for some members, this was just another day of exercise. “This is my 13th week working out, So I was I decided to come get healthy for the last few months. Even though it’s new years, I couldn’t really skip a day. It’s like a habit,” said gym member, Jonathan Suh.
Members like Jamaal Brady have been working out constantly in hopes of improving athletic performance. “Pretty much another day man, I come every day at least 5 or 6 days a week. Getting ready for an upcoming football season with a new semipro football team in Tennessee,” said Brady.
