Sex Offender Charged in Federal Court

JACKSON, Tenn.- A West Tennessee sex offender already serving time in state prison has been indicted on federal weapons counts. Terry Britt most recently entered a best interest or guilty plea to charges in Madison County involving the attempted rape and kidnapping of a woman in Jackson. The state sex offender registry showed Britt was first convicted of rape in Tennessee in 1977. Terry and Janet Britt were indicted on four federal counts of obtaining and possessing a handgun as a convicted felon. Both will appear in federal court, this Friday.
