Weather Update – 10:45 p.m. Wednesday

Temperatures have been dropping quicker than expected with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and calm winds. We’ll level out in the mid and upper 20s overnight before warming up to the low to mid 50s tomorrow afternoon. Scattered showers will move northeast through the region tomorrow afternoon and evening but some spots could dodge the showers and stay somewhat dry. A better chance for rain is forecast for the upcoming weekend.

A warm front will move through West Tennessee on Thursday night bringing temperatures to the low 60s on Friday. Our next chance for rain is forecast for Saturday from morning through evening as a cold front pushes into the area. It’s possible that we see a few thunderstorms in southwest Tennessee at that time. We’ll end up with a quarter to a half inch of rain between now and Sunday morning. Incoming cold air will bring temperatures down through much of the day on Sunday with afternoon temps in the low to mid 30s.

If the cold air catches up to the rain quick enough, we may see a few flurries in counties near the Tennessee River. However, any snow that falls (if it falls at all) is unlikely to stick. Expect a cold start to the workweek next week!
