Hopefuls buy Powerball tickets as drawing nears

JACKSON, Tenn. — With a chance at becoming a multi-millionaire, many West Tennesseans are rushing to retailers to buy lottery tickets ahead of the 10 p.m. drawing.

Half a billion dollars is on the line with the Powerball lottery jackpot drawing. Wednesday night’s jackpot is the fourth largest in Powerball history with a cash value of $306 million.

Hopefuls can buy tickets for Wednesday’s drawing until 9 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 292 million.
