Man charged in west Jackson robbery

JACKSON, Tenn. — A man went before a judge Thursday on a robbery charge after allegedly assaulting a man Tuesday on Lambuth Boulevard.

Cedric Earl Ware is accused of being one of two men who assaulted a man Tuesday as the man was walking along Lambuth Boulevard, according to court documents.

The victim told police two men grabbed him and punched him in the face and stole his cell phone from his pocket.

Police say they developed Ware as a suspect and that the victim later identified him from a photo lineup.

Ware is facing a robbery charge in the incident.
