JFA donates coats to kids at the Dream Center

JACKSON, Tenn-With temperatures forecast to tumble this weekend, a number of West Tennessee kids will have a better chance of fending off the freezing temperatures thanks to the Jackson Firefighters Association.

More than $1,000 dollars in coats were presented this afternoon to children at the Dream Center, a shelter for women and children.
This is the second year the organization has made the donation and the president of the association said the look on their faces makes it all worth it.

“What makes us happy is when we see the children come out and they’re just tickled to death to be able to receive a brand new coat. And when it’s your fire service giving it back to you, it just makes it even better,” said Tony Murdaugh, president of the Jackson Firefighters Association.

36 coats were handed out Thursday at the Dream Center.
