Job fair is this weekend for West Tenn. Healthcare Sportsplex
JACKSON, Tenn. — More than 200 part-time jobs are up for grabs Saturday at the West Tennessee Healthcare Sportsplex job fair.
The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Positions including concessions workers, cooks, gatekeepers, set-up workers, gift shop personnel and field maintenance staff are set to be filled.
Pay for the positions ranges between $7.30 up to $11 per hour, with the exception of score keepers and umpires.
“The umpires and scorekeeper are paid per game, and that depends on the age group of the game they’re doing,” revenue manager Lynnette Howell said.
All potential candidates must be 16 years old at the time of turning in an application. Howell said because this is a city job, a criminal background check will be performed and random drug tests may be given.
The majority of the jobs will require work on Fridays through Sundays.
Those who are unable to attend the job fair can drop off applications in person to the third floor personnel staff at Jackson City Hall.
This will be the 10th season of games at the Sportsplex. So far, more than 1.4 million people have passed through park gates.
