Weather Update – 4:00 p.m. Monday

After remaining under freezing for 33 consecutive hours, Jackson finally reached temperature in the low 40s today! There’s still another cold snap in the forecast with temperatures dropping back to the teens on Tuesday night, but gradually we’ll be back in the 50s by later this week.

Tonight won’t be nearly as cold as it was last night with cloudy skies at first. This along with winds blowing up to 10 miles per hour should keep some areas from dropping too far below freezing overnight. Most overnight lows in West Tennessee will actually be in the upper 20s to low 30s. However, with the windy conditions, temperatures will feel like they’re in the low to mid 20s Tuesday morning. A cold front will move through West Tennessee on Tuesday keeping high temperatures to the low and mid 40s despite the sunshine.

After starting out in the teens Wednesday morning, we’ll warm up through the rest of the week. Highs will be back in the 50s on Thursday and Friday. An area of low pressure will bring rain back to West Tennessee on Friday. Right now, there is no snow in the forecast with this system but it will be getting cold again over the upcoming weekend.

Have a great night!
