New tricentennial license plates available in Natchez
The Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1Sj5Itz) the commemorative specialty tags can be purchased at the Adams County Tax Collector’s office. Those who pre-ordered them should bring their current tag to the office and be assigned a new tag.
For those who didn’t pre-order, the plate can be purchased to be delivered by mail. The plates cost either $33.50 or $43.50, depending on when the tag is expiring.
Tricentennial Director Jennifer Ogden Combs says she’s thrilled with the plates’ design, which features a sunset, the river bridge, a steamboat and the tricentennial logo.
The tricentennial commemorates Natchez’s 300th anniversary of its founding by French settlers in 1716.
A portion of the funds from the sales will contribute to the city’s tourism and education efforts.
