JACKSON, Tenn. – Liberty Tech High School’s homecoming on Friday against JCM is going to be a big reunion for one specific group of alumni.

The Crusaders 2005-06 state championship boys basketball team is going to recognized during halftime of the boys game.

“It doesn’t feel like 10 years, went by so fast” Liberty boys head basketball coach Terrell Green said. “Them guys worked hard and deserve it.”

During that state title run, Green was an assistant coach. The team’s head coach was Dexter Williams.Liberty banner

Liberty’s gold ball wasn’t just a first for the school, but the first-ever boys state title for the city of Jackson.

“These guys loved this school. Them kids that graduated from here, won state championships and their names are on banners,” Green said about his ’05-06 team. “They want these kids [current Liberty team] to do as good as they did.”
