Former State Champions reunite at Liberty
JACKSON, Tenn. – The gang was back together again at Liberty’s homecoming on Friday against JCM.
It’s been nearly 10 years since Liberty won their first boys basketball state championship. That historic 2006 team reunited for a reunion at halftime of the boys game.
“It’s great to be back and see a lot of my former players and administrators,” West Carroll principal and athletic director Dexter Williams said. “It’s fantastic.
“Sometimes when I go to games, I miss the games and big rivalries we used to have. I get my basketball fixed. I’m still heavily involved.”
As a head coach, Williams led Liberty to back-to-back Class AA state championships in ’06 and ’07.
