Millington Man found guilty

MILLINGTON, Tenn. (AP) – A Millington man has been found guilty of criminally negligent homicide and aggravated child neglect in his disabled daughter’s 2012 death from gangrene and infected bedsores.

Andrea Ruth suffered from asthma, hypertension, and obesity. She was bed ridden and unable to walk.

According to a news release from the Shelby County District Attorney General’s office, Errol Johnson was convicted by a criminal court jury on Friday. He faces a total of 15 to 25 years in prison on the aggravated child neglect charges and up to two years on the homicide conviction. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 18.

The girl’s mother, Raven Ruth, and home-health aide Chasara Jones, are awaiting trial on charges of first-degree murder in the perpetration of aggravated child neglect.
