Union City’s Robinson introduced as Titans GM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union City native Jon Robinson has been a Tennessee Titans fan since the team moved to the Music City in 1997.

On his 40th birthday, Robinson was officially introduced as the organization’s new general manager.

“Our goal here is to win, bottom line,” Robinson said during his introductory press conference on Monday. “That’s a measuring stick that all franchises are measured by.”

The former all-state player for the Golden Tornadoes spent the past two years as director of player personnel with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Robinson also spent 12 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he worked as a scout.

“We want tough players. We want coachable players. We want smart players,”Robinson said. “And most importantly, we want players with a team-first attitude.

“My role here is to ensure we find those players. I will coach the personnel staff on the type of players we want and identify the guys that are true fits with what we’re looking for in a Titan.”

Tennessee owns the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
