Man convicted in deadly 2014 Huntingdon shooting

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — A man has been convicted on a murder charge in a deadly 2014 shooting in Huntingdon.

Larry Golden has been found guilty of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment in the shooting death of 26-year-old DeWayne Brown, who was killed just before midnight on Feb. 2., 2014, at a home in the 300 block of Hunt Street.

The jury reportedly reached the verdict at 8:45 p.m. Saturday. Golden’s sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on March 8.

Golden initially was indicted on a count of first-degree murder.

Two other people are charged in the case. Cedric Harris faces nine counts including first-degree murder while Jonathan Hughes is charged with accessory after the fact. Their trial dates have yet to be set.

Police say the men fled to New York after the shooting.
