Weather Update: 9:00 AM Wednesday
Right now there is just very isolated rain showers still pushing east between Selmer and Savannah. The rest of West Tennessee still has overcast and gloomy conditions. The chance for light, misting freezing rain and drizzle is possible through the noon hour today.
With temperatures very slow to warm up and currently still sitting in the upper 20s and at the freezing mark, the roadways may still be icy. Watch for ice especially on the overpasses and bridges. Leave enough driving room between you and the car in front of you just in case it is slick.
This afternoon stays chilly with temperatures staying in the 30s. Those areas that warm just above the freezing mark may see the roadways improve, otherwise it will still remain slippery on those roadways.
There are school closures today which can be found here on the WBBJ website.
The next system we are watching is a low pressure system that will bring rain Thursday that transitions to snow by Friday. More details on Friday’s forecast is still to come! Stay tuned with WBBJ for the latest updates!
