Jackson prepares for winter storm
The city of Jackson will have four snow plow trucks on the road, ready to clear the city’s vital roadways. The main priority would be major intersections and Thoroughfares most used by first responders. “We wanna get like our fire, hospital exits, wer’ll try to take care of that for them first,” said Weddle.
Next, crews will split the city into four zones and attack main roads in each area. The city of Jackson has prepared over 500 tons of salt in preparation for the upcoming winter storm.
State highways and routes will be cleaned off by the Tennessee department of transportation. Weddle says his best advice for drivers would be to enjoy the long weekend at home. “If you don’t have to be out in it, then just don’t go out in it.”
