Weather Update – Friday 11:15 p.m.
Black ice is forming on roadways across West Tennessee but some roads are worse than others. In Jackson, main roads have patchy black ice but residential areas have a little more snow and ice cover – especially in North Jackson. North of I-40, roads will be more treacherous where significant snowfall accumulated, but south of the Interstate, most roads are clear.
Winds will still be strong in the morning making temperatures feel like they’re in the single digits and low teens. We’ll warm up into the upper 20s and low 30s on Saturday with periods of sunshine during the day. Mostly sunny skies are expected Sunday with more significant melting taking place and an improvement made in road conditions as temperatures warm up to the upper 30s and low to mid 40s.
Our next chance for rain is forecast for Monday as a cold front approaches the region. We’ll experience a brief dip in temperatures again during the middle of next week.
Drive safe, and have a good weekend!
