Lamar County School Board seeks new member

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – The Lamar County School Board is looking for someone to join its ranks.

A vacancy occurred after District B member Steve Lampton’s election to the Lamar County Board of Supervisors.

Lampton’s district covers parts of Purvis and Oak Grove.

District D member Mike Pruitt tells The Hattiesburg American the board is looking for someone who’s committed to children and who’s willing to understand that there’s a lot of time and hard work involved but not a lot of pay.

The job pays $184.70 per month.
