Church prepares for service honoring Noah Chamberlin
JACKSON, Tenn. — Preparation is under way for a final farewell for Noah Chamberlin.
The 2-year-old went missing while on a hike with his grandmother and sister on Jan. 14. Noah was found about a week later about a mile and a half away.
“It has been amazing to see the impact a child like Noah can have on a community, a region, perhaps even the Southeast,” Fellowship Bible Church Pastor Randy Pierson said.
Wednesday’s funeral for Noah will be at Fellowship Bible Church, where Pierson says they’re expecting quite a crowd.
“We’re just encouraging them to carpool when they come. We will have transportation around the campus bringing people down the hill from the upper parking,” Pierson said.
The church has room for about 1,800 people, a number far less than the number of lives Noah has touched.
“I was just amazed to see the response and the unity that was there, and then the impact for me of seeing his parents and his grandparents and their faith in the midst of this great loss,” Pierson said.
The family has asked those attending Wednesday to wear blue and red, the colors of Noah’s favorite character, Thomas the Train. Green, the color of the ribbon used as a sign of hope during the search, can also be worn.
The service can be viewed live online here.
