Man faces gun charge stemming from Nov. shooting investigation
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man accused of illegally having a handgun at the scene of a November shooting outside a Jackson convenience store appeared Wednesday in city court after being arrested this week.
Police say Nicholas Fuller can been seen in security video from Nov. 22 pulling a handgun from inside his jacket and showing it to someone outside the Goldline convenience store located at 1819 Highway 45 Bypass.
Police responded at around 1:45 a.m. to a shooting outside the store. A witness also seen in security video later identified Fuller to police, according to court papers.
Fuller was arrested Tuesday when U.S. Marshals and Jackson police executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 600 block of Old Humboldt Road.
Investigators say they found a 9 mm handgun beneath a dresser and within reach of Fuller at the time of his arrest.
Fuller is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
