Man charged in Nov. Walgreens robbery
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man appeared Friday in city court on charges stemming from a November robbery at a Jackson pharmacy.
Antario Montgomery is accused of threatening an employee and stealing cough syrup from the Walgreens Pharmacy at 1334 North Highland Avenue, according to court papers.
Montgomery allegedly entered the store around 3 a.m. Nov. 19, went into the restroom and put a mask on the lower part of his face.
He is accused of then jumping over a counter and stealing an undetermined amount of cough syrup.
An employee told police Montgomery said “If you move, I’ll kill you.” The employee said he did not know whether Montgomery had a gun.
Police say Montgomery then ran from the store with the stolen cough syrup.
Walgreens employees were able to identify Montgomery as the suspect and told police he had been in the store the previous day, according to court papers.
Montgomery is being held in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
