Civic center sells out fashion show

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thousands came out to “Lights, Camera, Fashion,” A fashion show showcasing elegant prom attire to high school students.

“They’re top designers from all over the nation, you have Giovanni, Sherry Hill, tons of names that women all recognize,” said 2010 Miss Tennessee winner and event host.

Screen Shot 2016-01-30 at 9.31.51 PMAttendees also had the chance to vote for their crowd favorite. All they had to do was place money into the bag of their favorite model, and the bag with the most money won. All the money goes straight to charity.

“The most important part is that is a huge fundraiser for Saint Jude. Last year, we raised over 25,000 and we expect to exceed that this year,” said Lay.

Hannah Sterling who was also chosen as Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen was also at the show was also at the show planning to pick out a prom dress. “Since this is one of the big events in the community year round I decided to come out and support the girls,” said Sterling.

The event raised over $20,000 and will continue next year.
