JACKSON, Tenn- Local musicians are paying tribute to legendary country music star, George Jones, who passed away today at a Nashville hospital. Local musicians said they’re hoping to keep Jones’ legacy alive, through one of the things he loved the most. “Playing his music is keeping his legacy alive,” said Tyler Goodson, a local musician. According to a statement issued by Jones’ publicist, the Country Music Hall of Famer, died at Vanderbilt Hospital after he was hospitalized earlier this month for a fever and irregular blood pressure. Local friends and fans, said country music has lost one of its pioneers. “He is possibly known as the finest country musician the southern part of the world has ever seen,” said Henry Harrison, founder of the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame Museum. Jones’ is survived by his wife of 30 years, children, and a sister.
