Exotic Bird Show Makes First Appearance in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.- After dogs and cats what is the most popular pet in America. It is not fish, not hamsters..but birds. This weekend, bird enthusiasts are gathering at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park to snow off their prized pets and offer you the chance to join them. The Exotic Bird Show includes, not only a showcase of close to 600 birds from Finches to McCaws, but offers the chance to learn why they are so popular. “Having a bird when you wake up in the morning, they say ‘hi, hello’, you know. ‘I’m hungry’ and things like that. It’s just exceptional what the birds can learn to say,” said Tommy Bickerstaff of the Exotic Bird Show. The Exotic Bird Show is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tickets at the doors are $4 dollars for adults and children free.
