Saucier man arrested in Gulfport bank robbery
GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Gulfport police have arrested the man suspected in Friday’s armed robbery of a Hancock Bank branch in Lyman.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel tells local news outlets an anonymous tip received Tuesday led to the arrest of Daniel Lee Murphy of Saucier on a charge of armed robbery.
McDaniel says the robber approached a teller window, demanded money and implied he had a gun.
Police released surveillance pictures of the suspect to the media early Friday night.
Murphy was booked at the Harrison County jail late Tuesday afternoon.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
