Debut of stars kicks off masquerade ball
JACKSON, Tenn.-It was a debut of stars Friday night at the New Southern Hotel in downtown Jackson.
Two special needs children walked the red carpet ahead of Saturday night’s Masquerade Ball at the hotel.
The event was held to promote the celebration of equality of special needs children.
Director of the group “Different and Unashamed”, Delita Johnson said she hopes, more than anything that the children will feel the same as any other child.
“They have no need to be ashamed of anything, that they are or who they are. They are just children like everybody else,” said Johnson. Dozens of people were in attendance at Friday night’s event.
