Dozens gather to march against crime in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.-Dozens of concerned citizens gathered in east Jackson Friday to march against crime.

The group of men, women and children formed a prayer circle before their march through the East Pointe Apartment Complex.
Organizers said the goal is to bring awareness to the Hub City’s recent violence.

Parents said the message needs to start at home.

“We have to grab our kids and embrace them, show them that we love them and that should take a little time off the street for them,” said Marcio Murphy, who lost his son to violence.

Jackson city councilman Johnny Dodd said he plans to hold another crime march next Friday at The Villages apartment complex off  Old Hickory Blvd.
