‘Puppy Bowl’ raises money for humane society
CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — With the big game just a day away, some of Carroll County’s best pups took to the field Saturday to help raise money for a local nonprofit.
It was the Butler Bowl, between Team Walt, the president of Bethel University, and Team Lee, from the Huntingdon Animal Clinic. The puppies from two different litters played for around 30-minutes while spectators pledged money to their favorite puppy.
Organizers said this is a fun way for the community to be able to help out the animals.
“The community has been incredibly gracious in giving us donations of food and sort of puppy acutramal, but tonight is a nice way just for everybody to kind of have fun,” Dr. Sarah Kidd said.
The Carroll County Humane Society says they raised about $1,600 at the event. They’re planning on making it an annual one.
