JMCSS hosts parent information meetings

Parent learn about open enrollment and magnet programs

JACKSON, Tenn.– Saturday morning, the Jackson-Madison County School System hosted the first of many parent information meetings.

jmcss-logo2.jpgParents and their students filled the auditorium at Jackson State to learn more about middle and high school open enrollment  and magnet school applications. Teachers, administrators and counselors were there to answer parents’ questions and encourage students to apply for magnet programs for next school year.
“We want parents to have an opportunity to make a choice about what’s best for them,” said JMCSS Chief Academic Officer  Dr. Vivian Williams. “For their child, their individual student, and this gives them an opportunity to see the highlights and what’s going on at each school, the academic programs, and the excellence that we have within our district.”
Two more parent meetings will be held at Jackson State in the coming weeks. Applications must be completed and turned in by February 29th.
