Crockett Co. high & middle schools back in session
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — All schools are back in session in Crockett County after a tornado ripped through the community last week.
Crockett County High School and Middle School were back in session Monday after an EF-1 tornado ripped through part of their campus. The schools have been closed since the tornado hit Feb. 2.
Director of Schools Bobby Mullins said around 100 people have been working to reopen the schools.
“It’s difficult to tell unless you are just really looking. The restoration company that was in here did a good job of putting everything back together,” Mullins said.
“It’s amazing what you saw from Tuesday night to even in a couple days with the insurance company going in and how they just came in and took over, and it was a huge difference by Saturday,” high school Principal Jared Foust said.
“I think we were all really excited. We were ready to come back,” Spanish teacher Deshae Cole said. “We were ready to see our kids. So many of our kids had contacted us over last week and wanting to know what they could do to help and when they were going to have classes and where they were going to be, and I think everybody was just ready to get back.”
