USJ and Milan football set to play 2016
USJ’s new head football coach Rusty Bradley and Milan head coach Jeff Morris are familiar with game planning against each other. But usually with much more at stake.
Bradley guided Christian Academy of Knoxville to back to back state championships against the Bulldogs in 2011 and 2012.
The two venerable coaches will now face off during the 2016 regular season.
“It fit our schedule and I like playing local teams for the crowds,” USJ athletic director Jody Evans said. “It’s just a one-year contract, but I’d like to keep them on the schedule in future. It just makes sense.”
USJ added Milan to their schedule after Rossville Christian wanted to go in another direction. Before the Bruins moved to DII, they played in the same district as Milan.
The Bulldogs and Bruins will play against each other on October 7.
