Crockett Co. school leaders discuss possible changes to spring school schedule
Crockett County School officials met Monday night to discuss possible changes to this spring’s school schedule after last week’s destructive tornado.
An EF-1 tornado ripped through Crockett County on Tuesday, causing extensive damage to the high school.
The damage led to the high school and middle school using three of their inclement weather days.
However, district officials said no changes will be made to the school system’s schedule.
“The thing that we wanted most today was getting everybody back in school so that we could get back getting that routine developed on a daily basis so everybody’s up, everybody’s at it and everybody’s moving forward,” said Crockett County school superintendent Bobby Mullins.
According to the district, preliminary numbers estimate the school sustained between $350,000 and $400,000 in damage during Tuesday’s storm.
