Mark Andrew Smith, 30, admitted on Monday to burglarizing or trying to burglarize 13 Gibson County homes around the Medina community, according to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say most of the burglaries in the investigation occurred over the past few months and that doors were vandalized in order to gain entry. Once inside, they say the suspect focused on medications and money.

They say Smith also admitted to four burglaries in the city limits of Medina and two in Madison County.

Smith is facing multiple counts including aggravated burglary, vandalism, theft of property and probation violation.

He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond at the Gibson County Correctional Complex.
