Craig Taylor, convicted in December in the Nov. 15, 2012, shooting death of Devon Staten, was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to life with the possibility of parole.

Taylor was found guilty Dec. 17 of first-degree murder, felony murder and attempted aggravated robbery.

Investigators say Taylor killed Staten as he defended his girlfriend outside their east Jackson home.

Taylor also is charged in the January 2014 shooting deaths of Arkansas State football standout Markel Owens and his stepfather, Johnny Shivers. Police say Taylor drove the getaway car.
