Education commissioner visits West Tennessee

MAURY CITY, Tenn.-Education Commissioner Candice McQueen made a visit to Maury City Elementary School Wednesday morning.

McQueen’s visit is part of her ‘Classroom Chronicles’ tour, where she hopes to visit 10,000 teachers across the state.

“It’s ultimately become an opportunity for us to take back information successes, challenges, things that we are seeing on the ground in terms of implementation and bring it back to the department and talk about what we can do to better support implementation,” said Commissioner McQueen.

She also awarded a 4th grade student for a perfect essay, which is one of the few across the state.
