Police ask residents to be vigilant after recent burglary arrest

MEDINA, Tenn.-Following an arrest in a recent string of burglaries near Medina, officers are asking residents to take some precautions.

Police arrested a man, Monday, connected to three burglaries in Medina and 10 others in the county, but police said their area has been targeted by others as well in recent weeks.

Officers said although some things may seem like common sense, they urge everyone to take precautions so they are not the next victim.

“Keep your cars locked… don’t leave valuables in there. If you have ATV’s or trailers, things like that outside your home, make sure they’re not in plain sight and keep them locked up,” said Chief Steve Grooms of the Medina Police Dept.

Medina police said they are working with a number of other local agencies to investigate recent thefts.
