Weather Update – 10:00 p.m. Thursday
Showers are still showing up on radar over parts of the Mid-South, but they may not be making it to the ground. A 10% chance for brief, isolated pockets of flurries, light sleet, or rain will be possible in West Tennessee overnight, but overall impact will be minimal since the precipitation will mostly be light.
Temperatures will drop to the upper 20s and low 30s by sunrise at 6:46 a.m. Friday. Skies will have breaks of sunshine tomorrow but it may be a couple degrees cooler and slightly cloudier at times than Thursday was. Temperatures should peak in the middle to upper 40s tomorrow afternoon with breezy conditions.
Winds will remain gusty at times Friday night into Saturday morning with northwesterly winds bringing colder air back to the Mid-South. Temperatures will be starting in the 20s on Saturday with wind chills in the teens and possibly single digits but may not warm up above freezing in some spots, despite us having nearly cloud-free conditions. An area of low pressure will meet up with the cold air on Sunday, potentially resulting in a wintry mix for parts of northwest Tennessee on Sunday evening. However, with warmer air moving into the Mid-South our time with ice or snow may not last long enough to allow for significant (or any) accumulation. Precipitation is currently expected to change to all rain Sunday night into Monday.
