Curtain about to go up on McKenzie’s Park Theater

McKENZIE, Tenn.- A movie theater that is 75 years old is finally ready for a grand re-opening Friday in Carroll County.

McKenzie’s Park Theater has been getting a facelift for the last several years so it can be used again by the city.
The theater was originally opened in 1941 and city officials said they are glad to be able to bring something back that residents can enjoy.

“It is so nostalgic and it really pulls on the heart strings to get to open this again and offer this to the public,” said McKenzie Mayor Jill Holland.

The theater will be opened to the public starting Friday night with a performance from the Bethel Renaissance program and a showing of “Affectionately Yours”, the first movie ever shown in the theater.
