UT says it never offered degree candidate says he earned
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The University of Tennessee says it never offered a degree that a candidate for Knox County property assessor says he earned.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports UT never offered a bachelor’s of applied sciences in electronics engineering technology. And officials have no record that Andrew Graybeal ever was enrolled at the school.
Officials also said the university would never have accepted course credits from ITT Technical Institute, a for-profit school where Graybeal said he earned an associate’s degree before transferring.
Graybeal told the paper he did graduate from UT and was searching for his diploma at his parents’ home.
He said, “Without being able to go to UT and ask for a copy of my records – something that’s 23 years ago – this is kind of monotonous.”
