State comptroller praises Weakley Co. for clean audit report

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — The state’s audit report for Weakley County contains no findings, a distinction only a small number of counties across the state can claim.

For the past two fiscal years, the county has had only one finding in its audit reports.

“This audit report is as good as it gets,” Comptroller Justin P. Wilson states in the release. “I applaud everyone in Weakley County government who has worked hard to have one of the strongest systems of county government in the state.”

The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office audits 89 of Tennessee’s 95 counties, according to the release. Last year, only two of the 89 counties, Hamblen and Robertson, received clean audit reports.

Weakley County joins Sullivan County, Blount County and Tipton County as the only counties who have received clean reports so far for fiscal year 2015. County audit reports will continue to be released through March.
