Deputies release sketch of man they say posed as officer, robbed motorist
OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies have released a sketch they hope will help lead to the capture of a man who reportedly posed as a law enforcement officer and assaulted and robbed a woman Jan. 15 after pulling over her vehicle in Trimble near the Dyer County line.
The man was driving a white car with a blue light on the dashboard and was wearing a badge around his neck, according to a release from the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman told deputies the man pulled her over near the Trimble exit as she was driving from Obion County into Dyer County.
As the woman was getting her driver’s license, the man reportedly told her he didn’t want it but wanted money instead. The man then struck the woman in the face and took $12 and a ring from her purse, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man is described as a white male with sandy hair.
