Lady Bulldogs first in region polls, men picked ninth
Union’s women’s basketball team has a strong chance to earn an at large bid in the NCAA DII South Region Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs were picked No. 1 in the first official NCAA Division II South Region rankings.
This week’s poll is the first of three followed by a final tournament seeding that will come out over the next four weeks. The poll rankings will determine the five at large bids in the eight-team South Region Tournament in mid-March.
The men’s basketball team came in at No. 9 in the South Region.
The women’s South Region is set for March 11, 12 and 14. The men’s region will be played on March 12, 13 and 15.
