Arts in Jackson highlight of leadership breakfast

JACKSON, Tenn. — Community leaders came together Thursday to recognize people making a difference in the local art community.

Arts Leadership BreakfastThe Jackson Arts Council hosted its 7th annual Arts Leadership Breakfast Thursday morning at the JEA training center on the Highway 45 Bypass.

Representatives with the Tennessee Arts Commission talked about an upcoming Arts and Economic Impact Study. People also got an opportunity to network and learn more about the arts in Jackson.

“It’s definitely an economic driver. It just instills a deeper sense of community, and I really believe that arts really brings out the best in everyone,” said Melinda Hearn with the Jackson Arts Council.

People also got to check out artwork from local students and listen to a performance by members of the Jackson Symphony.
