South Elementary students host ‘Living History Tour’
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — In honor of Black History Month, students in Pinson paid a different type of tribute Friday with a Living History Tour.
A total of 39 Students at South Elementary School in Pinson dressed up to portray their favorite figures in African American and equal rights history.
From Jackie Robinson to Abraham Lincoln, the real-life exhibit gave elementary students the chance to live out the lives of those who changed the world.
“It also gives our students the opportunity to just have fun with history,” fifth grade teacher Danielle Hayes said. “That’s one of my goals as as a teacher is that they will enjoy history, that history will come alive.”
A similar event was held Friday at Lincoln Elementary School.
