JMCSS leaders iron out Vision 2020 plans
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Principals and school leaders spent the day Tuesday planning out Vision 2020 for the school system.
In a release, school system officials say Extended Learning Schools will not be fully implemented until the 2017-2018 school year.
Extended Learning Schools are Isaac Lane and Arlington elementary schools.
School leaders say they are forming an advisory committee to make decisions about the program.
“It doesn’t mean we’ve stopped the work on it by any means, and I think that’s a misconception people have,” Superintendent Verna Ruffin said. “It just means we’re going to phase it in so it can be more successful along the way.”
The group also is working to organize summer programs at these schools for students in kindergarten through third grade.
