I.B. Tigrett holds school’s last black history program
JACKSON, Tenn. — Students at a west Jackson middle school took time Wednesday to present a special black history program.
Faculty, students and guests got together at I.B. Tigrett Middle School for their last annual program.
In addition to interpretive dance songs, they heard from Lane College President Dr. Logan Hampton and representatives of West Tennessee Healthcare.
The program is the last for the school, which will no longer be a middle school next year.
“We knew it was coming, and we tried to make it the best one so our students can remember 20, 25, 50 years from now,” said Tommie Kirkendoll, a P.E. teacher at the school.
