Police: Suspect drives through checkpoint, injures officer
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Police have arrested a suspect who they say drove through a checkpoint and injured an officer.
Jackson Police Department spokeswoman Colendula Green tells media outlets that officers were conducting a checkpoint Wednesday night when a vehicle drove through the checkpoint. The vehicle struck an officer’s arm as it sped by.
The driver eventually lost control of the car on Interstate 20 and was taken into custody.
The officer’s injuries are not life-threatening.
