WHITEVILLE, Tenn-A burglary at a convenience store in Hardeman County has police looking for suspects and the safe full of money that was reportedly stolen. Whiteville police said someone broke into the Whiteville Food Mart Tuesday night between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., leaving with a safe that was rolled out on one of the dollies inside of the store. Although the dolly was dropped off in a nearby field, the safe was nowhere to be found. “I lost thousands of dollars,” said Surad Chadha, the store’s owner. Police said the suspects kicked in the wall in the back of the store to break-in. “It appears that the suspects cut a hole in the wall and went in through it,” said Chief Steven Stanley, of the Whiteville Police Department. Police are offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. They ask anyone with tips to call the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department at (731) 658-3971.
